The Government has recognised the problem of the street children in Ulaanbaatar by leaving the man-hole covers open or unlocked so that they do not die of cold.

Inside the orphanage the are children that have been left by parents who can’t provide for them, or the police from the Children Identification Centre will try to leave children with Fr. Gilbert Sales if they cannot trace or find the parents. But, there is only enough places for 120 children and all ready there are 130 children here. The orphanage was set up by Fr. Gilbert Sales, who also goes out on to the streets and gives food to the street children.
